Rachael Taylor as Trish and Krysten Ritter as Jessica in Jessica Jones.

Yeah, the time has come. Let’s talk about this.

So I try to give women, especially those in creative fields and/or positions of power and/or the public eye, the benefit of the doubt. I decry, for example, vocal TERFs and anti-vaxxers and proven unrepentant racists, but I try not to hate on women just for doing things that aren’t to my taste. A lot of Top 40 music isn’t my thing but I can respect the people who make it. I like to joke about goofy hetero romances crafted by and aimed at women, but y’all do you, it’s just not my thing.

I bring this up because the woman who showran Jessica Jones had worked on the Twilight films, which are generally considered laughable, but I didn’t want to hold this against her. I didn’t hold it against her, because season one of the show was so great, but here’s the thing. I have some issues with the woman now, and because this is going to get mean I don’t want to address her by name, so I will instead be referring to her as Renesmee per her connection and per that name sucking as much as her choices.
