Specifically, your fave (Bobbi Morse, aka Agent 19, aka Mockingbird, played by Adrianne Palicki on Agents of SHIELD and appearing in a variety of comics) is autistic.
(She’s also on the aromantic spectrum, but that honestly deserves its own full essay.)
You may remember that I’ve already claimed to be a Hellcat stan. That’s not a lie, I am, but my love for Mockingbird is too deep for just one word. Sure, I’m a Mockingbird stan. I’m also embarrassingly enamored of her live action incarnation to the point where I actually cried the first time I watched her farewell episode. I’m also that person who bought not only the 8-issue Chelsea Cain Mockingbird series of a few years ago but the giant trade they put together of miscellaneous early appearances of hers in miscellaneous comics. I’ve cosplayed her multiple times and I’m extra enough to actually even have used YouTube videos to teach myself a little escrima in my spare time. I have a lot of feelings about her.
Bobbi was actually one of the first characters I headcanoned as being autistic, right around the time of realizing I was autistic too.
